We had speech therapy this morning and Sarah was really into the little instruments that Amy brought over. She was using these two little blocks that you rub together, then she would look at us like she was waiting for someone to clap. It was great! She really likes when you clap for her and say "Yay Sarah!!". She'll wait a few seconds and then try to clap by herself. She really tolerated the music play for quite a while. Once she started to hit herself in the head with the toys though, we called it a day. I can't wait to start OT because I'm very anxious to hear any tips she may have for me to help Sarah with her self injurous behaviors. That is one thing I am quite worried about. She's slowed down on the actual headbanging but has started to actually hit herself on the side of the head with her hand or a toy.
